Anyone who has been on Adventure of Sea--please give opinion
Yes, we have booked on the Carnival Destiny and just learned they cut out Aruba. Since this port is main reason for this cruise, wanted opinions on Adv. of Sea. Be more expensive, but like the itineary better now than the Destiny. Appreciate any input. Going Feb. 07 so we can cancel with Carnival. Some say they like Aruba some don't. The Destiny added St.Lucia and Antigua. We have just gotten off the Liberty and was so disappointed in Antigua. I guess that is why we don't want that port now.
Thanks so much!

We've been on Adventure twice with a 3rd trip scheduled for August. Both trips included Aruba on the itinerary. I liked Aruba although the "gently" trade winds seem to have been 20 - 30 MPH on both our visits. Made snorkling a challenge both times. Parasailing in that kind of wind was also very interesting Anyway, Aruba is a very friendly country and easy to navigate on your own if you so choose.
Been to Aruba twice.... once on Adventure. It is a very nice ship and had a great crew on board when I was on it. Lots to do on sea days. Aruba is very nice island...although I like Curacao better, which is the second port on this part of the southern caribbean itineray. My first visit to Aruba was in early February also, and it was very very hot with very little breeze at that time. There are many beaches, especially on the southwestern part of the island. Palm beach is the most popular beach in this area. Aruba is a desert island... and the northern coast is very scenic but waters are rough there, so no beaches really. There are lots of tours which take you to this part of the island as it has the most scenery and history of the island. Right in the port area, there is lots of shopping, casinos, restaurants and bars. Carlos N Charlies is also nearby. Snorkeling and scuba diving sites are very plentiful and it is considered one of the best ports for both in the caribbean.
I just had my first cruise on Adventure in March. I loved the ship and the ports we visited! There was so much to do on the ship that I think some of my favorite moments were days at sea! I would recommend this ship to anyone.
If there are any particular questions you want answered, ask away!
I went on the destiny last year and HATED it. it was very run-down and was going into dry-dock a few weeks after we got off. I found the food below average the service average and the entertainment and amount of things to keep occupied with very poor. I am sailing on the adventure this july, and i was on navigator 2 years ago--which is in the voyager class WITH adventure, navigator was 5 stars all around.
my advice: cancel the destiny, go for adventure, its worth a little extra money.
the only good thing is destiny, does that still go to dominica? if so and you end up going on the destiny, in dominica definetly do "wacky rollers" as your excursion, best excursion on any cruise, ever!
