Is there a young crowd on the Sovereign of the Seas cruise?
I will be on the Sovereign of the Seas this September for my first time on RCCL and was wondering if there is a young crowd or is it more an older crowd. I will be 28 in July and would like to be around ppl my age or alil younger or alil older. Thanks!
When we were on her we found overall, the crowd tended to be a little older. There were some families with children, but I wouldn't say it was a really young crowd. Most of the people were over 50. We still had a great time, but did find that there wasn't a lot of nightlife. Most of the bars and lounges were empty by about 11:00 p.m.

I'd say the demographics of the crowd depends largely on the time of year that you are sailing and the length of the cruise. At certain times of the year (school vacations) you will see alot of families and students, at other times you will see more couples and older folks. I have found that generally Royal Caribbean is attracting a younger crowd than say Celebrity. I think that lately it's advertising has been directed toward a younger crowd.
When will you be sailing? We are sailing on Sep. 22. It's a "girl's weekend", we are leaving the men at home!

Oh God im feeling a lil scared. Me and my bf are sailing on Sept. 4 thru 8, 4 nights to Bahamas. Oh well I'll still try to have fun, thanks for ur comments.
Totally understand that you would like some younger people on your cruise, but at the same time, older people highlight cruises sometimes! There was an older guy that was being harassed during the dueling pianos show which was hilarious because he was fair game! Plus it's good people watching when they're drunk and can't walk!
lol. the last thing I want is for ppl to think I feel older ppl can't get down. I know they can get down. its just more about being around ur age group and things like that.
It's really hit and miss, you can find older people and you will find younger people. There is something for everyone on cruise ships so the ages are going to be diverse. If you don't want to hang out w/ the older folk, don't go to bingo or the shows. Stay in Boleros or Voltage Lounge.
thanks buttercup. we will be ok. this is my second cruise. my first was on Carnival last summer and there were a diverse group of ppl. i jus wanted alil idea of what RCCL is all about.
When I was booking my honeymoon earlier this year the travel agent said that Carnival and RCCL are big hits with the younger crowds, and honeymooners. Just remember you can have fun anywhere you just have to want to, and besides you with your boyfriend so you will have fun...otherwise you wouldn't be dating him.
