Due to a hurricane last summer our ship was diverted to Laberdee. We fell in love with the island. It was true paradise. This summer we booked a trip that purposely was going to Cococay, just to check out their other island. Is this island just as beautiful as Laberdee? I take it the activities are the same. I just want to lounge around while my son and boyfriend was to jet ski like they did last summer.

Labadee is in our top three of the favorite places to stop while on a cruise. It's unique and uncomparable as far as the setting goes. You won't find another cruise-based beach area surrounded by mountains in this area of the ocean. (at least that I'm aware of)
Cococay is nice though. We had fun there as well. Very clean...a pleasant day.
We really enjoyed our day at CocoCay. DH and I relaxed on the beach while the kids went snorkeling and parasailing.

We've been to both Coco Cay & Labadee. I much preferred Coco Cay. I thought the facilities there were far superior. Additionally, at Coco Cay the locals were not roaming the beach trying to sell you stuff. I found the locals to be very pushy at Labadee.
I love both Coco Cay and Labadee. They both offer the same BBQ lunch and most of the same activities. Coco Cay is actually an island, where Labadee is just a large beach that RCL uses for themselves. I'm sure you have fun there as well.
Actually, Labadee is a larger area than Coco Cay. Labadee is a peninsula leased by RCI. It is a 260 acre peninsula on the North coast of Hispaniola, Haiti. It is completely fenced and is soley run by RCI. Coco Cay is a 140 acre island, almost have the size of Labadee. So, Labadee is not just a beach. In addition to swimming, water sports , an aqua park and nature trails to hike as well as shopping and a local folkloric show. So I would say that Coco Cay is more of just a beach, and Labadee is more of a destination that includes a nice beach. Just though I woud clarify.
The snorkeling is better at Coco Cay, but Labadee is very beautiful and seems more exotic as previous posts suggest, because of the mountains and because it is unusual for a cruise ship to stop in Haiti. They are both our favorite ports, and I wish RCI would put them on the same itinerary as they did in the past. Since they are both tendered ports, prepare for the possibility that if the seas are rough, you may not be stopping.
hate to correct my DH on line but we have been to Cococay (whihc is great) & the island off of Dom Republic called Catalina. Can't say about Labadee but have been to Haiti many yrs ago & it is very beautiful...
I have been to both and I personally loved Labadee much better. The snorkeling was excellent and it is just a beautiful place. The Haitian craftsmen are very pushy and they all have the same items for sale, but they are off to the side and out of view. I would go back to Labadee in a heartbeat!
