Default Having trouble finding answer to port question

Is there a good way to negotiate a taxi to take me to El Yunque Rainforest in Puerto Rico?

If I take a taxi out there how will I get back or will I need to
pay for the taxi to wait? About how much will that cost?

San Juan is a stop on my upcoming Explorer of the Seas cruise in December.

Thx!

Depending on the time frame you have, look into doing a ship excursion to the rain forest if they offer one. I think the cost of a taxi there would be too great, an excursion would be the way to go.

I agree that with Donna that doing it as an excursion (either through the ship or some other venue Hotel, etc) would be better than trying to hire a taxi. It is approximately 1 to 1 1/2 hours from San Juan to El Yunque. That said it is well worth the trip. Absolutley beautiful.

Shoretrips dot com offers a hiking excursion there for $84.00 per person.

We were on explorer this past march and booked an excursion to the rainforest through the ship. It was cancelled due to the fact we didn't have enough time. We got into san juan at 2:00. So be aware they will let you book it even though they "should" know it will be cancelled. We walked around old san juan instead and it was nice.
