Default Advice needed Rccl or Carnival

This seems to be a "touchy" topic to post on either cruiseline board. However, my husband and I aren't sure which line to take this year. We are bringing my brother and his wife who are first time cruisers, therefore, we'd like a shorter cruise. (in case they hate it). We aren't sure what to do about cruiselines. We've been on Carnival for the past 3 years and have had no complaints but Carnival doesn't offer balcony rooms on their shorter cruises. RCCL does....I don't want to make a mistake on our once a year vacation. Any advice would be great.

Thanks!

Both lines are similar and I don't believe you will go wrong if you decide to choose a different cruise line (RCI). Each cruise line has good and bad things about them. There are several great ships which run 4-5 day itineraries... Grandeur, Enchantment(one of my favs), Splendor just to name a few.

Carnival does have some suite cabins with balconies on ships that go for 4-5 nights. I've been on both lines and loved both. I do think that Carnival gets a bad rap. I have no complaints about Carnival. WE had a great time and the staff was great (except customer service). IMO you'll be fine whichever you choose.

This is my second cruise, my first was on Carnival. Me and my family had a great time on Carnival, but this yr I'm doing RCI since a friend told me she heard this line may be a lil better. So I'm trying it out to compare the 2. I say go with RCI, since u've been on Carnival already. You'll be able to see which one you like and this way u won't keep wondering if Carnival is better then RCI or vice versa.

Either way, I believe u will have fun.
