Default Will RC do "special meals" in the dining room?

Hey there...

I am a 33 yr. old vegan who's done four cruises with Carnival & one with Princess. I became a total vegetarian about 4 yrs. ago and since did one cruise with Carnival. The staff there was great about providing vegetarian meals(specifically no dairy/egg/etc.). We found a lot we could eat on the buffets, etc.

I am wondering how RC is about these sorts of things. Anyone have good/bad experiences to share. I would like to try a new cruise line, but if they can't/won't accomodate me, I guess I'll just stick with Carnival.

Thanks,
Angie

Just off the "Serenade" yesterday and they accomodated a diabetic at our table by reviewing choices with him the night prior. Head Waiter should be made aware of your needs too because he/she can authorize changes or special requests for you.

You should write or talk to the special needs dept. of the cruise line BEFORE you cruise. Those discussions will let you know if they can accomodate your needs well enough for your liking.

All of the major cruise lines have a strict vegetarian menu every evening, so you should have no problem on any of the major lines. Kuki's suggestion is on target, though -- contact the line's special needs desk if you are concerned.

BTW, the "premium" lines like Princess, Celebrity, and Holland America handle special requiests with less fuss than some of the "mainstream" lines like Carnival and Norwegian Cruise Line. You might want to check out the "premium" lines if this is an issue, as they are only slightly more expensive.

Norm.
