Default Taxi From Boston Black Falcon Terminal

We are sailing on the Jewel O f The Seas Oct 14th returning Oct 21st and
plan to take a cab to Logan Airport. Wondering if there is any problem
getting a cab there ? I know that has been a problem in the past in New
York City.

I have taken a cab from Black Falcon to Logan two times and it is the only way to go.. The RCCL buses are to slow and you have to wait untill 50 people get on board with their luggage. By the time that that happens you will be at the airport.. I paid about $20.00 for two persons (not each) for the trip. The bus is $30.00 per person and is slower and is a mess.. A lot of people take the bus, because they do not know about the cabs and their travel agent sells them the bus becauce the agent does not make any commission on the cab fare.. The cab takes you right to your airline, while the bus goes to all of the different airlines and yours may be on their last stop. The cab is faster, bcause the driver wants to get back to the dock for another fare. The cabs are only about a 100 feet from where you get off of the ship.. Take a cab.. OM

I agree, no problem with getting a taxi from Black Falcon. I have a question for you. I did this cruise two years ago, only in Sept. It was too early for any color. I'm going to book for 2007 in Oct., but can't decide.....the 6th or 13th ? Will you please post a message when you get back and tell how the foliage was. Thanks

yellosno,

The folliage typically starts peaking in northern Maine around the middle of September. The peak moves southward to the southern coast of New England around the middle of October.

If your cruise begins or ends in Boston during the week and a half ending on Columbus Day, be sure to plan a weekend stay while you are here. The Topsfield Fair, held about 25 miles north of Boston in the town of Topsfield, is the oldest agricultural fair in the country. It's not particularly large (a day is sufficient to see it all, including the shows and competitions), but it is historically significant. The fair always runs for ten days ending on the Columbus Day holiday.

Norm.

a taxi is definately the way to go.
FYI - if you truly want to experience New Englands fall foliage in all its glory you have to get away from the sea go inland, head for the Pioneer Valley or the Berkshires. The foliage will not be as vivid at the shore, not to say that there won't be any color, just not as much and as vivid.

This should not be a serious problem. the Black Falcon Terminal very close to the entrance to the Ted Williams Tunnel, and I understand that the Ted Williams Tunnel is now open to commercial vehicles. If it's not open to taxis, the entrance to the Calahan Tunnel, which also connects directly to Logan International Airport, is just a little further to the north.
