Well we did this trip many years ago when our daughter wanted to go to all that stuff- she was still a kid then-we have a great water park where we live-we only went to that because it was included in the price of the ticket and we went for like half a day and then went back to Sea World-as we liked that best.

We did the Disney parks that trip too-but now we prefer cruising-I doubt we would go back and do that again-at least not unless we have grandkids sometime in the future-that would be the only reason for us.

Memory lane, it is a fun thing when you can still remember your memories..... the "80's", unfortunately, I don't remember too much from the 80's as it was my version of the 60's.
I do recall going to wetnwild in about 1979/1980, it was a small park back then. and it was not so crowded as what it gets now. do you recall a very large go-cart track around that area (before I-Drive took off) where you were literally riding out in the back 40; we used to get in so much trouble there, because we would get out in the back where they couldn't see us and do donuts and crash into each other. We were finally asked not to return.. It wasn't a "theme park" pretty place, it was kinda old then and some parts of the track were in the woods.

You don't really want to see what was next; this was the starting clip of an email that is going around called the "Best emails of 2005 put together". Everything after Speedo Happens dealt with dog love and other unusual events.

. I just took off the beginning of the clip since it was relevant to your thread.

Thanks I will try that when I get home tonight. If you haven't watched this very short clip it is worthy of the Speedo thread to say the least.

Since we don't want DTW's speedo thread to run out of steam. Let's throw down a Speedo pic challenge for everyone's next cruise. For instance, someone has to find a speedo that fits the following categories and take a pic of each:
(1) brightest color
(2) smallest speedo
(3) biggest speedo
(4) hairiest speedo wearer
(5) upside down speedo - couldn't think of anything else.
and you get bonus points for being in the pic with the speedo wearer.

Hopefully you live in a beach town. Otherwise, if you have people sporting Speedos for no reason at all, you may live in a very strange place....

I think the contest could be open to finding speedos anywhere; actually that could be #5; the strangest place to be seen & photographed in a Speedo. Even though upside down speedo could be funny as well.
Also there should be no cheating. for example, don't just google "Speedo" in the image section and submit someone elses photos.

You are too funny. Speedos around town!!

Like walking down Central Avenue? The local gay beach may be a good start. I have heard reports of multiple Speedo sightings on Pass-a-Grille beach. I will see if I can capture any this weekend while out cruising. There is a nude section of Shell Island but that would be sans Speedo and not qualify.

But I have to ask -- what's the fascination with Speedos anyway?

I suppose there is perhaps a morbid fascination with these things, but come on!

What's been interesting to me is the ladies' responses. They are at once horrified by the sight of a Speedo, and yet drawn to it somehow. The same ladies who are repulsed by the sight of a nude man, and yet go berzerk at the Chippendale's (or similar) show where the men strip completely naked.

My response to a Speedo has always been "dude, if you're not an Olympic swimmer then put some freaking shorts on. Nobody wants to see your......" I suspect most men think the same way.

I suppose men and women view the world differently -- or at least Speedos!

But perhaps in the final analysis, there is no answer to this question. And maybe it's better that way. Perhaps the Speedo should remain an enigma.

Whatever the case, this has been a great topic -- thank you for posting it!

I think the ladies' conflicting responses are based on the following: at a Chippendales type event, there is atmoshphere or at least the place is dark and only other ladies/friends and the dancers are going to see their reactions to the "male presence". In public, we are just not expecting it and gee what are we supposed to do... grab a towel and cover him up??? respond with hey nice package or hey, that Speedo is cutting of your circulation cause your "winkie" is shrinking. Maybe in truth, we just don't want you guys to EVER know what we are thinking.
As to my feelings on Speedos, as long as the guy isn't walking down Central Ave in my hometown like they do in gamitscuba's town, I am okay with speedos on the beach on the cruise, at the lake, on a boat. Cause either way, I am going to have something to enjoy or laugh about and either way, I will have a smile on my face.

The 'Rents are fine. 50 years of wedded bliss - for real!! .. let's see, if I can find some single guy on the Caribbean Princess and I get married on my cruise this weekend

I can celebrate my 50th when I am 90!! We can get married in matching speedos - those would be some pictures!! (only the ceremony - not the "honeymoon" pictures!).

What... the fellows get to ogle at the girls wearing bikinis... but one mention of a lady checking out Mr. Hunk in said speedo... and the men get slightly irked...
of course... no one wants to see... i dont know.. some one like dick cheney running around in a speedo...

somethings are just tooo racy for even the experienced audiences...

We're such a small town that everyone knows everything about everybody... speedos are nothing... some guys would walk around outside in their tightywhities if it was legal
I do remember being in NYC one weekend... 1st weekend in july right before my Horizon Cruise to Bermuda... and it was the rainbow spectacular parade about 3 miles long... I saw enough fruity fellows in speedos there... to last me a life time... sorry.. no pictures...
