Good evening,
Actually, 3 different clients of mine, on 3 different sailings, were told the same thing: she's targetted to get a ''Sovereign of the Seas''-type stretching sometimes in the near future. Plus, our local rep from RCI told me the same thing.
The only thing that still allows this to be a '' rumour'' ( albeit a very strong one.....) is that the drydock has not been scheduled nor has a yard been awarded the job yet.....( and if it has, RCI is doing a splendid job of not telling anybody about it....!!!)

With a recent rudder incident, the whole long term drydock may have been set aside for the moment....

Cheers

Default Grandeur of the Seas

There are negotiations with two yards for the stretching of GR;
similar to the one on Enchantment of the Seas.

Default Grandeur

GOS will go into a scheduled drydock in April 2007. She will not be stretched.

P.S. - Sovereign of the Seas was not stretched.

I have been on the Enchantment before and after the stretch. Going for the 3rd post-stretch cruise in November. They did a great job with it and it is seamless. You can find it if you look real close under the arches.

From what I know, the Grandeur is the twin sister to the Enchantment of the 6 Vision class ships and best candidate for stretching. Something to do with engine room placement. Roland?

Engine room placement is one reason, but foremost it is a matter of the different ships´ tenacity.

Default I stand corrected.

I should have said the Grandeur will not be stretched during her April 2007 drydock.

However, her current captain announced to C & A members last week that she is scheduled for stretching (like the Enchantment) sometime in 2009.

Time for stretching has not yet been decided.
Perhaps we know more tomorrow

Default Just passing along what the captain is telling guests...

But I 'm sure the captain is the last to know...
