Mariner-Ice Skating

I was wondering when the best time was to go ice skating. I am a figure skater and am excited about the thought of still being abole to skate onboard but I don't want to be bumping into 12524857 people when i do. So I am wondering if are there any times when there are fewer people skating?

I was on the Mariner OTS a year ago. They set aside some time during the late mornings and early afternoons on days when there is no ice show scheduled for passengers to skate. They allow 50 skaters at a time on the ice for a 1/2 hour time slot. Everytime I went to the ice rink, there were 50 on the ice, and around 100 more waiting for their turn, so it was very busy.

They did set aside a few ice slots for what they called "Advanced Skaters" to use the ice, but you had to have your own skates, you were not allowed to use their rental skates for that time.

ok thats good because I am bringing my own skates. It may be a bit of a hassle but those blue rental skates are horrible!

Yes, those blue skates are horrible. I didn't bring my hockey skates on the trip and I didn't want to be on their small ice sheet with 49 others, so I had to skip the ice skating all together when I was on the Mariner OTS.
