Default Room Service?

Ok help me understand this...room service is included right? I mean besides a tip. Well, I understand that GS catagories get small platters of deserts and strawberries and such. Some seem like that's such a big deal, but can't everyone get that? Or at the very least can't you go down to the buffet and get whatever you like?

Also I hear people talking about the D1 catagory. What is that exactly?

There's certain "special treats" made up and delivered to suite passengers.

Other cabins can certainly order from the standard room service menu, or go to the buffet and pick up whatever sandwiches, foods, or deserts that are being offered their that day.

As to D1, it's simply a category of balcony cabin.

How come I've seen chocolate covered strawberry platters sitting outide the room on the floor for disposal. But yet I never was able to see this on the menu in my cabin for room service, but others seem to of had this.

I don't know about ordering them once the ship sails, but the choc dipped strawberries are a "gift" item that can be purchased prior to departure.

Oh, maybe that was what it was all about. Thank you for your response.

We just got back from sailing on the Freedom. They served the chocolate covered strawberries after 11:30pm in a couple of the lounges and definately at the midnight buffet. Room service is free you just need to pay for most beverages and provide a tip.

I have at least seen them them in the Champange bar during cruises on a regular basis as well as at other events.
