Anything I forgot to pack?

Getting ready for the drive to Ft Lauderdale thursday morning. I plan to get to the port by 10:30 and be the first one onboard. it is 250 miles from St Pete and I think 3 1/2 hours should get me there.

I have most of my stuff together. I have packed my clothes including one suit for formal night, four Speedos (one for each day), leisure suit for the 70's dance party, tie dye t-shirt that matches my blue Speedo, flip flops, running shoes, three watches, carry on cooler, 18 Budweisers, a bottle of Cruzan Rum, my suntan lotion collection, the last know edition of "The Official Suntanner's Bible", my I-POD with charger and speaker set for the cabin, my tortoise shell Wayfarer's, my Maui Jims, my reading glasses for the Compass in the morning, video camera with tripod and extra tapes, my Nikon Coolpix 4600 and 1 GB card, toiletries, sign for cabin door proclaiming, "Dave the Wave's Cabin", lava lamp night light, massage oil, aloe after sun moisturizer, my three favorite hats including the RCI one I got for participating in the belly flop contest last time, lip balm, nail clippers, goggles and my Royal Caribbean Visa card.

Is there anything I may have forgotten?

What? No bottles of water for quenching the thirst at 4:00 in the morning after 15 hours of drinking?

Yes, thank you for reminding me!! I can drink water from the sink for that too though. I like to take a couple bottles when I go ashore also.

How about tomato juice & vodka for the raging hangover; or at least some aspirin.
There is something else you may have forgot to pack; let's see - how do I say this politely ---- your raincoats.....

Good thinking, MSBJ. Bloody Mary mix and vodka should be a part of anyones packing list.

As far as raincoats go, that is a good idea. You never know when a tropical shower may pop up.

Bob, are you doing the 4 or 4 nighter? Cococay is great. DO the Waverunners if you get the chance there. Do the Yellowbird in Nassau. On the ship, just enjoy the great pools during the day, the piano bar before or after dinner. The disco gets too loud with hip hop for me after awhile. Viking Crown Lounge is a nice getaway from the crowd to overlook the pool and sea.

I won't need the seashell collection this time. I am bringing a date for the first time since I was married. Will see how that goes. If I didn't the ship would be full of geriatric crowd, if I do it will have the Swedish Swimsuit Team.

No, MSBJ. Wife was the date. We sailed Premier back in '89, Song of America in '90 for Honeymoon, Sovereign in 2000 and Majesty in 2001. Since then, I have taken my kids on 5 cruises (have gotten lucky even with kids onboard), and have done 5 by myself including this one. This is the first time I have brought sand to the beach. So, it will be a new experience for me. I think it will still be a good time.

Thanks, Tracy. Actually, at this speed, it should take me 2 1/2 hours to get there but I am allowing for a couple bathroom breaks.

4000 RPM's = 100 MPH in Honda Element. Gas mileage suffers a little though...

maybe they will let you conduct the lifeboat drill in exchange for free beer;

I am seriously getting green with envy - can't wait until I cruise again.

Now back to your packing list; don't forgot to make sure your date has everything that is usually requested in the Quest. (do they change that up or do they ask for the same thing each time). I have only seen one and that was several years ago and I think they called it something else.

Those of us who have sailed many times with rccl say to other people on future sailings: do not miss Quest. It is held in a lounge and get there early to get seating (very crowded). Prepare yourself for the most fun you could have; bring your camera!
