What shuttle company is the best to use going to Port Canaveral from Orlando and returning. Just checked on car rentals and they are very expensive.

Be sure to check out what the cruiseline you are on for their prices of transfers. You can usually get a decent deal by using that.
There is also Super Shuttle, we saw them at the airport as well. The actual diriving time is around 45 minutes one way. We had used the Carnival transfers and they wanted $50 per person round trip. Not a bad deal and it was easy.
CJL: It depends on what your using the transportation for. If you're using it just for a straight shot airport to cruise terminal / cruise terminal to airport, then the Super Shuttle is probably your best bet. It's about $20 pp, BUT...you'll have a full van and have many hotel stops along the way.
If you want to go direct, there are van-style shuttle-cabs available at the airport for about the same price as a rental car, around $60-75 one way.
If you're including a visit to the Kennedy Space Center or some other spot, consider renting a car or mini-van. We did that last February with our good friends after getting off Mariner OTS. It cost around $90 for a nice mini-van, well worth it for the relaxed drive back at our own pace. Plus cab rides that long can become a high risk experience with a poor driver.
So it really depends on your personal choices and needs. Take care, Steve
