Cozumel international pier car rental

Are there any car rental agencies located at the international pier, I am assuming this the dock for RCI ships?

not sure but I remember seeing lots of people in jeeps. I am sure they are rented and I think they will meet you when you get off the ship.

Driving Overview - About Driving in Cozumel Mexico:

Buy Mexican auto insurance. Driving is on the right hand side of the road. Be aware that many roads are not in the best of conditions. Driving at night should be avoided if possible: cars without lights, drunk drivers, cows in the road, drunks in the road, no reflective lines on the highway, potholes, etc. Always be aware of livestock. Gringos call them "speed bumps", in Mexico they are called tope (TOE-pay). Tope are common even on some major roads so keep your eyes on the road as they are nearly invisible but very tall, which can rip off your muffler. There are not a lot of gas stations in the Mayan Riviera. There are gas stations at Puerto Moreles, Playa del Carmen and Tulum (also one on the island of Cozumel). To be safe, don't let your tank get down below 1/4. Credit cards are NOT accepted at PEMEX, the state run gas company.

Was just in Cozumel last week on Rhapsody. There was a car rental agency set up right there at the International Cruise Terminal. It's right by the cab stand. I can't remember which it was since we took a cab, but I do remember that there is one right there.

As already posted...lots of Jeeps and also lots of convertible VW bugs (the old models).

Thanks for the info, we will be there in 12 days and plan on renting a car and touring the island, especially the east coast.
