Hi there, i will be going on my first cruise in Nov 07 aboard the Mariner of the seas with my husband and 2 boys. Do i need to pack bathing towels for us all or does the ship provide them for you? I ask because with all the clothes i will need to pack for the family i don't want to waste any valuable space in the suitcase!!
Save the luggage space and use the ones they give you. Just remember to always return them to your cabin for fresh ones, they will charge you a price of a towel if you loose one. Feel free to use them on excursions, etc.
Bath towels and beach towels are provided in your cabin. The beach towels can be taken with you to the pool, and even on excursions to the beach, as long as you bring them back. If you don't, you get charged for the towels.
Also, if you're environmentally minded, RCCL has a policy that you can re-use your bath towel, instead of receiving a new one each day. You can use it a few times and then have it replaced. Doing so saves energy. To get a fresh bath towel, just leave the old one on the bathroom floor.
There will be beach towels for each of you in your cabin. Just exchange them at the pool when you want new ones and don't lose it as they will charge you to replace it. There are plenty of other towels in the bathroom but if you want more just ask and the steward will bring you what you want. They will replace them everyday if you leave them on the shelf by the door or on the floor. No need to pack any towels!
