Default Pre-Cruise Hotel

Hi there,

We fly over from the UK into Miami airport the night before we cruise and will be staying in a hotel arranged My RCL. Does anyone know what hotels they use and how near/far it will be from Port Canaveral?

Any info will be great, thanks

As far as i know of, we are flying into Miami, we havent received anymore info as we do not cruise til November.

You have a good point though, why fly us into Miami when Orlando is alot closer, i also have a 2 yr old and an 8 yr old to think of. Do you think i can switch airports easily or will i be charged for the privilege?

We have stayed at the Hyatt Regency when we booked thru RCI. It's a very nice hotel. Enjoy.

FOS07 -You must drive really fast! I guess they don't call 528 the Bee Line Expressway for nothing.

I would say the driving time is a little more than an hour to the port from the airport. I know that Virgin Atlantic flys to Orlando and probably BA as well in addition to charter carriers.

Lot's of hotels/motels in Coco Beach. It is worth coming a day early and visiting the Kennedy Space Center if you, or anyone in your family, is into that sort of thing.

I have booked through TA. They do not have the name of airline carrier yet but will be either Virgin, BA or AA.

Hi there, just to let you all know, have been in touch with RC and we are flying into Orlando Int. Airport, thank goodness!! Glad they cleared that up as my TA had listed Miami as our arrival destination and i was not keen on the transfer times.

Many thanks for your suggestions and advise,

(i'm sure i'll have lots more questions soon.)

You'll probably end up in one the hotels by the airport in Orlando and take a bus over in the morning. All the major chains are present but nothing else (e.g., theme parks) is really nearby. I hope you don't get routed on AA (I fly them a lot) as they don't have non-stop service from the UK to Orlando. I am pretty sure both Virgin and BA will serve Orlando non-stop from London and maybe other parts of the UK like Manchester or Birmingham.
