Default RCI Gives All Onboard Expenses to US Customs!

FYI -- Just left my Grand Suite onboard Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas. During disembarkation, I observed that the cruise line provides a full listing of each passenger's onboard expenses to the US Custom's officals. So if you purchased an expensive item (e.g. Watch, Jewlery, etc.), more than one bottle of booze, more than one cartoon of cigs via your SeaPass Account, and you don't happen to correctly claim that information on your custom's form; they will be able to validate at the pier to ensure you appropriately pay duty on those applicable items.

The ship was great and the Grand Suite was amazing. The cabin had a Bose surround sound system, huge bathroom (twice that of a Junior Suite) with twin sinks and big bath tub. I've book Liberty for next year in the Owner's Suite, should be nice as well.

In fact, the U. S. Customs Service requires all cruise lines to provide this information for all passengers, and probably also for crew, entertainers, etc., who disembark in the United States and Puerto Rico. I doubt that any cruise lines, including Royal Caribbean, provide this information to the U. S. Customs Service for passengers who disembark elsewhere.

Norm.
