Default Dining, formal night questions

Our group is sailing on the Mariner in April and are considering the posibility of having dinner at either Portofinos or Chops. We have a few questions. What is the surcharge for these restaurants? We understand that Chops is basicaly a steakhouse and that Portofinos is an Italian restarante, however, is it possible to find out what some of the menu choices are before we cruise? Can someone tell us what nights are the "formal" nights aboard the Mariner (Western). Also, what about any info on renting tuxedo's? We would really appreciate any help with these questions and give thanks in advance.

The charge for both Chops and Portfinio's is $20 per person. Sorry, can't help you with which night to go, but you are correct, Chops is steaks while Portfino's is Italian, but I understand you can still order steaks at Portfino's.

On a seven night cruise the formal nights are almost always the second night of the cruise and the next to last night. Formal attire for men can be rented usually from one of the shops aboard ship. The per centage of men wearing tuxes has diminished over the years, but there are still a great deal of them worn. The surcharge restaurants have a limited menu but what they do they do well.
