I've heard its fabulous along the coast of Italy in the Fall. Weather in the 70's, sunny and great for sightseeing. When are you cruising? I am booked on the Sept 29 Voyager of the Seas from Barcelona.

Am booked on a September cruise out of Barcelona. What will the weather be like in Italy and Spain in September?
The weather is apt to be quite hot and humid, especially in the first half of the month.
Be aware that many of the shore excursions visit churches that have significant art and architecture, and that the churches have very strict dress codes. Generally, both men and women must wear clothing that completely covers the shoulders, the knees, and everything in between. Also, while in churches, women must cover their heads with a hat or a scarf or something (actually, a small doily on top of the head, held in place with a couple bobby pins also would be fine).
That's generally a good time of year to cruise the Mediterranean. The weather can be a tad cool, but weather in which you need a light jacket or sweater is much better than 95 degrees when you are touring outside and visiting buildings that are not air conditioned, etc. I would be prepared for temperatures in the 40's just in case you get a cold snap.
