Going on Mariner of the Seas Dec 2 Deck 9, any suggestions or opinions of ship. Wll have 3yr old and 5yr old grandchildren, their parents and us in 2 side by side cabins. Early seating at supper.
This is one of my favorite ships. As you may know, Mariner of the Seas is the newest of the Voyager class, her maiden voyage in Nov 2003. When we cruised Mariner in Feb '06, we boarded on Super Bowl Sunday. They showed the Super Bowl on a wall of TV screens in Studio B. It was incredible...if you were a Pittsburgh fan.
The food was wonderful, service excellent, pools great, activities well planned, lots of activities and a whole deck area for kids, and great entertainment. The ship is the most colorful of the Voyager class ships. It's beautiful.
You don't mention what cabin types you've booked. Are they connecting? There are several balcony-outside that provide a good value and safety for pre-school age children (no balcony).
Early seating is best for a young family IMO. Late seating schedules the headliner showtime at 10:45 on a couple evenings...sometimes too late for tired parents. Early seating provides a more reasonable show time. I think you'll like it.
Let us know any other questions you have, and Welcome to Cruisemates! Steve
I'm Steve Cooper. I love Royal Caribbean, and recently discovered NCL and love them too. I've also cruised Princess and HAL.
