Royal Caribbean Voyager of the Seas or Norwegian Gem?
I'm setting up a trip for a group of 8 (4 couples) and we are in our late 20s, early 30s. I can't decide on booking Voyager of the Seas on Royal Caribbean or Norwegian Gem for a Western Mediterranean cruise next summer. Is the cruise line you choose more important or the age of the ship? We don't know what option is a better fit for us. Help!
Well, you do have several things to mull over. If you go just for the age of the ship , the Norwegian Gem is a new ship. The Voyager was built in 1999. Some things to consider. Are the cruise lengths the same. Do you want freestyle cruising or something more structured. And of course always the price. Which Itinerary is best. Do you want more sea days or more in port days. Which cruiseline offers the most for your money. I think if you can answer these questions you acn make your choice. Also, involve the other couples in the decision making process. Get everybodys input. Hope this helps. Enjoy the Mediterranean.
I agree with seadog2. In addition, you're comparing two totally different types of ships. Voyager class is about 1.5 times larger than NCL Gem will be. Different public area features, etc.
Do some checking on both NCL and RCI websites to view the deck plans for each ship; look over the photo gallery for pics of the Voyager, and for NCL Pearl or Jewel to compare.
We're here to help with more questions, take care, Steve
I'm Steve Cooper. I love Royal Caribbean, and recently discovered NCL and love them too. I've also cruised Princess and HAL.
