What are you trying to smuggle?

Yes they xray all checked in luggage and also have dogs for sniffing out "stuff". If something is found, they could/will hold your luggage for personal pick up. I've taken my travel iron on all 21 cruises with no problems so it all depends on what you're trying to hide.

Everything is x-rayed every time you board the ship at each port. This means your camera and if you still use a film camera that is a concern. We did not know this and my husband had film in the camera and not in the lead bag. Even tho' they say it does not affect the film - it did. We had it developed on the ship and it had fuzziness etc on the pic.

So be warned - they xray your belongs each and every time you board the ship.

Me, I use a digital camera.

Yes, according to their website. So to be point blank, if you are attempting to smuggle alcohol, they can confiscate it right out of your suitcase. And on top of that, they can deny you boarding. Latest new rules.

Bring an extra $100 for the drinks & leave the booze home. It's better than the passengers waving goodbye while you are standing there at the pier calling yourself the worst.

Default YES

and please, DO NOT bring a travel iron. The one poster appeares to be bragging. It only takes one 'accident".
I can see the interrogation:
"gee, I am sorry, the previous 21 times I did not start a fire on the ship"

For some odd reason, I wonder if the OP is planning on bringing items of a personal nature on board, and is a bit paranoid as to who might know.

Texasmunk,
I was not bragging just stating a fact. I never said I hid it either. I am very responsible if I use it and it is put away before I leave the cabin. I don't smuggle alcohol like many do and I don't smoke which I personally think is a much bigger fire risk.
