Default enchantment of the sea

Has anyone been onboard the Enchantment? It was refurbished in 2005. Any feedback on the ship ? Thanks.

I have been on after the refurbish - this is my one of my favorite ships. Also Dave the Wave is the expert on this one.
she is a very clean ship; the staff is great; the pool deck area is my favorite out of all the ships; good food;
what are your questions?

We are booking a cruise on the Enchantment for May 3, 2008. My main draw to this ship was the great price I received for a balcony cabin. I am not crazy about the ports, but I would like to visit Cayman Islands again.

I have been reading good reviews about this ship.

We were just on the Majesty 2 weeks ago and she is gorgeous!

If you liked the Majesty, you will love the Enchantment! Similar cruise experience but newer ship and a few upgrades such as solarium, concierge lounge, nicer pool deck and larger cabin. Let me know if you have any specific questions. Been on Enchantment 4 times before and after the stretch and refurb.

Hi Dave,

I knew you would respond to my post

I have a few questions;

How are the balcony cabins?? (we got a great deal from my TA)
We are booked in room 7112 (do you think this is a newer room, or should I request it??)

How is the food in the Solarium?? (I read that hot dogs, pizza, and hamburgers are served here during the day)

Are the adult games comparable on all ships (I really enjoyed the "battle of the sexes" game on the Majesty, but I missed the Quest game, which everyone said is the best game)

The dining room seems very big with two stories, how are the tables arranged? (I am hoping they are not too close together)

The pool deck looks nice, but I only noticed one bar, is there more than one?? Is there a band playing during the day??

On the majesty, the stairs were very accessible to the elevators, (which was good for my Mom), is it the same way on the Enchantment??

Thank you, I appreciate any information you provide

Cabin 7112 is in the original section and you are directly in front of stairs and elevator. Good spot. The new cabins are the 6-7 that are FORWARD of the Centrum. They are no bigger, different or better other than a sliding shower door instead of a curtain.

Solarium food is fine.

Games are same. Quest, Marriage, belly flop, 70's Disco party, ect... On the longer cruise there will be some more planned activities. Did you do the 3 or 4 on Majesty? Are you doing the 4 or 5 on Enchantment?

Dining room is beautiful!!! See gallery. Not any closer together than Majesty but the ceiling is much higher and the staircase is lovely, like in Titanic.

Stairs are next to elevators and very near your cabin. See deck plan.

Dave

Thanks Dave

We did the 4 night Majesty cruise, and are doing the 5 night on Enchantment. Thanks for the deck plan. Everytime I tried to view it on my computer it would not work, but now I can see it. That is a good spot. My Mom liked the room being near the stairs/elevators. Do you know where I can view a copy of a recent cruise compass on Enchantment??

Thanks again

Does Enchantment have a kiddie pool or just a splash deck?
I've been on Freedom last year, is Enchantment very different from Freedom? Will I be disappointed?
Is there only one coffee or snack shop on the shopping deck?
Do they serve sushi or asian foods at the Windjammer?
Is there a formal night on the 5 night cruise?
Thanks! I really like the picture you attached. Maybe you can share some more

There is not a "kiddie" pool. But the main pool has a shallow area. The Enchantment is very different than the Freedom. If you go looking for the indoor shopping mall atmosphere of the promenade you may be disappointed. If you go looking for a clean ship with friendly crew and fellow cruisers and great service, you will not be disappointed. This ship is almost as long as the Freedom but has half the gross tonnage. Less people, less crowds, you may may run into the same people more than once.

There are two pool bars, this one and the Oasis on the port side under the span of the new section. There is also one in the solarium.
