Even if you DID have the same cup, you could not use it to get free cokes - you still need to purchase the sticker (one for each person who wants to use it - no sharing allowed). If you have the old cup and just wish to use it on the ship as a cup, feel free to do so.

ok! I really need to know...Is it Truly worth it to purchase this card... I have 2 teens coming with us. I have heard that it isn't worth it from someone else. I couldn't understand that.. Perhaps they where on a different cruiseline beats me...............
They said that they cut them off at a certain number...which didn't make sense to me if it is an unlimited card.
Maybe someone can answer that question for me.
How much would it cost to purchase a coke on the cruise anyway?
Do they have water, Juice, coffee, tea, anything that you can help yourself too? Just trying to figure out if I should purchase this card thingy or not.
Do you need the MUG to get a refill always. Like what if the kid loses her cup. I dunno.
Thanks Louise

I think it is. My DH and I only go one and just refilled it all the time. Saved for buying 2. I will take the cup again on my next cruise so I just have to get the sticker.

I have not been on RC yet. But I have been on Carnival and Celebrity. Each time we have purchased the cards for the kids and each time we say we aren't going to, but do. Yes, they can get soda anytime, but some of the bars tell the kids they have to use another bar. Not sure why.
They give them a new cup each time, they don't have to use the same one. I don't think that the people going around trying to sell the special drinks will bring you a soda, you have to go to the bar. (that's what they told the kids) They have free juice for breakfast and lunch. The kids would drink that because they hated that they had to go to a bar and get one then go back to where they are serving the meal. So it was eazier for them just to drink the juices. That's why we said we wouldn't buy them again.

During our sea days (because they were around the pool bars) and at dinner is where they would use the card the most. But some times that was an issue. Some cruises were better then others. The bar waiter would ask them what they wanted the first night and then the rest of the cruise he would have a drink ready before they asked. Then a couple of the cruises the bar waiter would just pass them by like they were nobodys. We had the call him over every night to say the kids wanted a soda, because we weren't ordering anything from the bar, he would pass us by. If they don't know what they serve at dinner because we have always had the cards. If the kids don't like ice tea or water there really isn't anything for them to drink and I don't know what they charge for each soda in the dining room.

Sorry to go on and on.
It's worth it but its not, if that makes any sense?
I'm sure that cleared everything up for you, right?

My Kids have only done Carnival but we never had an issue. They would bring them drinks around the pool. They did not have to go to the bar.
I bar waiter at dinner was very good. I gave her a tip at the end of the week. We RARELY ordered anything, but she brought the kids drinks without get a tip.

When you purchase the Coke card on Freedom do they give you a cup to have refilled or do you just go to a bar when you want a coke? Not real excited about having to carry a cup everywhere I go incase I want a coke.

You don't have to carry the cup around. If you want to just get a coke or soda at the bar or whatever you just have to show them your card with the sticker. That is how we did it on our last cruise anyway.

That's how we have always done it on other cruises as well. However, this is our first Royal Caribbean cruise and I thought perhaps they do it differently. Were you on RC when they just issued the sticker and no cup?

Yes it was a RCC cruise. They do give you a cup, but they give you the sticker to put on your sea pass as well. That way when you are just out at the bar you don't have to carry the cup around and just show them the card to get you a drink.

Thanks for clearing it up - our experiences before have always been with a seperate soda card but no cup.

To address the issue of it being worth it - I have always heard if you drink more than 2 -3 sodas a day it is worth it. Also, they aren't just for kids - I know several adult have them as well. Just in case anyone was wondering.

Also, they wouldn't have to charge so much per person for the soda cards if everyone was honest and if you plan to drink sodas then buy the card don't try to cheat by sharing one and refilling it all the time. I realize it's my opinion but it's a major pet peeve.

On another note - even though this is a RC site - I have to give Disney props - they have unlimited soda and you don't have to buy a card or sticker or cup - it's included in the cruise price.

YES!!! I do recall in the diningroom with the kids at meal time we had pop and you are right we didn't have to pay for those, it did come with the meal.....

I thought forsure that we paid for it other places, never really took much notice. Gee! Isn't that interesting.....

SO, DOES THIS mean that even in the diningrooms with your meals on the RCCL. you have to pay for your beverage.???POP..
Just wondering.... confused now.

If this is the cause then it IS DIFFENTLY WORTH IT TO PURHCASE A POP CARD.

Yes, soda is NOT included with your meals on RCCL. We have always purchased a sticker for each one of our kids on cruises and always felt that it was worth it.
