Default New to Cruising

My wife and I just booked our first cruise on Royal Caribbean for next February on the Navigator of the Seas. We are very excited about this trip and would gladly listen to any advice for "First Timers" about cruising.

My Best advice: Listen closely to everything, don't pack way to much, and don't get drunk after midnight.

1) ENJOY, time and days just don't exsist.
2) Don't overeat, you're gunna love every meal and those inbetween.
3) Don't overpack.
4) Tip your cabin steward for a job well done!
5) Read these boards and do your homework.

The one thing to pack would be an over-the-door-shoe organizer! This item will have many uses besides keeping track of your shoes.

Default 1st time

Take plenty of pics, leave behind your laptops & cell phones. Forget today's news and headlines. AND don't argue over little stuff with your wife..

Let your hair down..try new things you wouldn't normally do...for my wife & I some of the best parts of the cruise are the memories made, which lead to planning th next one.

Have a Great TIME!!

AS the others have said,,no laptops, no cell phones, no blackberrys. Take your watch off when you board, and just relax. Don't worry about what's going on at the office, or at home,,,just take it easy, and enjoy the ship, and your fellow passengers. Smile at the others on the cruise. Dance with your wife, or husband. Do things that you would probably never do at home. Get involved in the silly games, and sing karaoke. (you're never going to see these people again, and they don't know who you are)
Above all, enjoy the cruise, and don't sweat the small stuff.

Default Thanks

Thank you all for the good advice. We look forward to spending time away with just the two of us. Any comments about the food or general reviews about the Navigator of the Seas ship?

We enjoyed the Vintages wine bar on the Promenade, and don't miss the parades/celebrations on the Promenade during the cruise. See as much of the ship as you can, do as much as you can stand (Johnny Rockets, ice show, pitch & putt golf, etc) and as everyone else has said ENJOY at your leisure !
