Freedom Of The Seas - Summing Up

Just a thought - if your first cruise is on the Freedom, you may be spoiled forever. As I said earlier, this ship is a multi-generational heaven afloat. There is something for everyone no matter what you prefer as to the cruising life style. For kids there is the H2O water park and specifically tailored programs by age group (up to 2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-11) and teens loved the Flow Rider, video arcade, Fuel club, Crypt Nightclub (on some nights), the Dancing In The Streets celebration, etc. Young couples and thirty somethings have the night spots with live music (oldies, salsa, reggae) the Quest and marriage games. Also popular was the big (and I mean BIG) fitness center (every machine you are looking for). And of course the salon, massage therapy, the works. Older folks like the parades on the Promenade, Bingo sessions twice a day, lots of seminars and how-to demonstrations (cooking, art appreciation, towel folding, etc). The cantilevered whirlpools hang fifteen feet over the side of the ship and give you a great perspective of the ship gliding through the water. There is big band dancing, trivia contests, and the usual silly stuff (men's sexy legs, belly flop contest, etc). And of course the casino and all its many splendors. And of course first run movies, ice skating and ice shows, and thirty five seperate meals each day ! There was a gigantic "Return To The 80's Night", the pool deck was turned into a South Beach styled night club, and on a couple of occasions the scene went on until 4:30 AM (if you wanted to savor it all). Until something better (or bigger) comes along, this is the ultimate in cruise ship versatility and a nice party for four thousand or so of your most intimate friends.

GREAT REPORT you really summed it up. Answered any questions I might have had. I just hope our cabins won't be noisy, deck 10 under the kids pool. Guess I will just have to stay up late at the deck party and not worry. Thanks for the great review.
