Grandeur of the Seas from Tampa February 28th 2008

This is my next adventure. From Tampa to Key West and Cozumel for 4 days. Hope the weather holds this time of year. Anyone been on the Grandeur lately? She is coming to Tampa just for the winter. I wish they would keep one here year around.

I got a new Speedo for this trip so I can start evening up my tan lines. I have been dying to do this in the belly flop and think I have gotten up the nerve. This guy was my hero on this May 05 cruise on the Sovereign ( I am in the yellow )....

Looks like a great cruise. I'll see if I can get on board. :D

Dave the Wave July 26th, 2007 02:20 PM

Yes, join us. It will be a great time. See if you can get MSBJ to go. I haven't been on this ship yet but she is just like the Enchantment before the stretch. They are supposed to stretch this one too when they find the dry dock time.

Had a great time in Cozumel last time and we have a good long day there.

Dave the Wave July 26th, 2007 03:09 PM

Does anyone know if she still has this big dent?

dlm2005 July 26th, 2007 03:12 PM

Did the parking valet do that?

Dave the Wave July 26th, 2007 03:14 PM

I think so....

msblackjack July 26th, 2007 03:38 PM

I'm in

but please don't stretch me

Dave the Wave July 26th, 2007 03:40 PM

OK, tell Erik not to try to jump from the ship to the dock again...

Ouch - he still has an ugly scar ...

he hasn't been on a boat since LOL

TheCruiseManiac July 26th, 2007 07:39 PM

Dave, I sailed the Grandeur maybe 1 or 2 years ago I think, Or Maybe it was the Vision...No Grandeur, When I went there wasn't any dent. Personally I liked the Grandeur - I'd have to say this:

1. Song of America
2. Sun Viking
3. Song of Norway
4. Mariner of the Seas
5. Grandeur of the Seas

I know, I'm a sucker for the old ships. Hope it goes well. I would join you but I already got the Freedom, Liberty, and Independence booked, and maybe the Genesis...Also I got a World Cruise in '08.... 8)

I will be on the Grandeur in Dec and i will fill everyone in on stuff. I cant wait this will be my first time with RCI and my first cruise in over 10 years. Im hoping to get my new husband into cruising. He is a camper but I hope that changes after this trip.

Dave the Wave July 26th, 2007 09:00 PM

Edward,

I enjoyed your pics of the Mariner as I was on her in May. I have also done the Song of America. I also like the smaller to mid size ships. I don't think bigger is always better...

cmom,

Can't wait to hear of your impressions. 8)

msblackjack July 31st, 2007 08:39 AM

okay who else is going?

for those curious about cruising in February let's just say the weather is more pleasant that the high humidity months; the currents seem to not as strong as in Nov/Dec/Jan and the waves don't get "tropical" like in July/Aug/Sept. - perfect cruising weather......

Dave the Wave July 31st, 2007 09:04 AM

I am ready. Have a neighbor wants to go. Haven't been out of Tampa since 2003 on the Sensation. This should be a more pleasant cruise. The purple really got  to me and I almost jumped overboard!

dina July 31st, 2007 10:46 AM

Dave - Still no luck on my end yet. Let me know if she wouldn't mind a cabin mate who's low maintenance and fun. LOL

Dave the Wave July 31st, 2007 11:04 AM

She seemed interested. She is also fiesty little Italian girl. :D She is a drinker too but mostly just Captain Morgan.

Lou July 31st, 2007 08:52 PM

I'd be tempted to join you and Feb. 28 would be a birthday cruise
for me. Last time out of Tampa was the Miracle...Grandeur would
be a pleasure....sailed on her many years ago end of January.
At that time came bundled up from Chicago. Weather was very
nice, tho.

Think I'll have to pass tho, as we're planning on the Liberty
the end of June of 08.

hahaha - at least it is enjoyable music IMHO ---- now if you are blasting RAP music, I will have to take the IPOD away.

Dave the Wave August 4th, 2007 05:29 PM

Rap is Crap! You won't hear any of it from me. Dina looks pretty relaxed in her cruise pic, don't you think :?:

Hey Dave... I'm doing a little happy dance in my cube.. hahaha

Dave the Wave August 6th, 2007 01:22 PM

Just remember, you are the first cabin behind the centrum, I am the first cabin forward of the centrum. It is easy to get lost and go trying to get in the wrong cabin.... especially after a few Mojitos!
