will they do special food request?

I have talked my parents into cruising RCI for the first time, the major hurdle was that they did not have the "alternate menu like Carnival" that offered "shrimp cocktail" every dinner.
Does anyone know if RCI will some how make shrimp available if requested for dinner as regular appetizer ahead of time??

Just ask your waiter... I'm sure he can accommodate you. The first night you will not get it because they don't have it ready but after that it shouldn't be a problem.

Royal Caribbean does offer alternative meals every night. Its the same menu every night, the choices are printed on the menu. Ask your senior waiter on your team about the shrimp cocktail and if it can be done, it will.

Your Head Waiter (in charge of all the waiters/assistants in your dining section) will handle any special requests like that. He/She needs to approve it but I doubt that it will be a problem. "RCI" serves variations too so shrimp should be on the menu more than once. Dinner menus posted outside the dining room after lunch if you want to prepare yourself!

Thanks for info on whom to possibly speak with- I did not want to bother maitre'd early in cruise as I know they are overwhelmed.
Glad those in the know of RCI think requests are possible.

buffetfan- just to be clear its not the Maitre D you want to talk to. What you do is at dinner the first night, ask your waiter if you can speak to the Head Waiter, your waiter will get him for you.

Thanks for info Lisa. I'll have them locate head waiter for request.
We will be staying in a Grand Suite- what does concierge handle?
-ice show tickets- yes
info on beaches for port stops (like hotels that allow cruise visitors?) I am thinking otherwise I'd may get a shore excursion desk bias.

RCI ships have an alternate menu. If I can recall, shrimp cocktail is always available.

buffetfan you didn't say which ship and what your ports of call are. You will get more responses if you post a separate question about your ports, and what ammenites are offered with a Grand Suite and concerige service. Hope this helps some LisaK
