umm....no. the only time royal gives away drinks is to crown and anchor members during the welcome back reception.

No, no free drinks, unless you go to a repeater cocktail party or the captains pre-dinner on captains night...You will have to purchase drinks in the dining room at dinner time.

Default Free Drinks ?

Yes, IF you're a C&A Diamond member you have the opportunity to go to their private lounge and make yourself a drink or two before the main dining room opens in addition to the other events for Diamond members. That's why it's always good to sign up for Crown and Anchor while on your first cruise.
I have 18 completed and next week 12th-19th on the AOS will make my 19th.

Remember-there is nothing free on the cruise in general!

Okay, I'm confused, every cruise that I've been on had free champagne, wine and snacks at the Captain's Reception before formal dinner, it was just at the reception though, not all the way through dinner.

The Captains pre dinner reception is for repeat cruisers and does have complimentary drinks and snacks.

Maybe I'm beating a dead horse and we're saying the same thing, only different, but all guests are invited to the Captain's cocktail Reception before dinner.

We were just on the Liberty of the Seas. On the Captains night, they were giving away free champaign and fruit drinks on the prominade after dinner to any adult who wanted them.

As noted, "YES" on captains night in the Royal Promd. the captain makes a speech and they serve "free" champane and fruit drinks on passed trays. This is anyone on the ship that shows up to hear what the captain has to say during this 20 min. welcome.

In addition to the above, if you're a C&A member there is also a separate party with more than just free champane, for about an hour.
