Default Portofino reservations

Is it possible to make reservations at Portofino's before your cruise. This is our first cruise, and I've only heard rave reviews about Portofino's and would love to try it. I was just wondering if maybe it can be done on the Royal Caribbean website. Also, what about spa treatments? Do you have to wait to get on the ship to make them?

You can easily make both reservations once you are on board. Just have an idea of day/time you want to do them, you shouldn't have a problem. Just use your cabin phone, very simple.

Default Portofino Reservations

In addition to what Donna said.......I would book as soon after getting onboard as possible. Both Portofino and Chops are relatively small, and they do fill up quickly.

Thanks for the info. Are you able to go to your cabin as soon as you board the ship?

Default It depends when you board

Cabins, in my limited experience, are usually not ready before 1 -1:30PM.

If you board around that time, you may be able to go right to your cabin.

If you board early, which is what Bob and I do, you will have to wait.
When we make reservations in the alternative restaurants, I go to the restaurant itself ( Mariner Deck 11) as soon as we board and make them there. Just my opinion!
(Do not want to take any chances)

Hope this helps.

Diane

Thanks! I think that's what we'll do, go right up to the restaurant and make the reservation. Can't wait!

Congratulations on your 25 Anniversary, Diane!!

If you are crusing in a grand suite or higher your concierge can make these reservations for you. Typically they will e-mail you about a 2-4 weeks before your cruise to offer you their services.

Default Book the day you board

I agree with Dianeteach68...as soon as we board the ship, the first thing we do before getting to the cabin is hit Portofino's and Chops to make reservations. They do fill up pretty quick and this gives the luxury of not only choosing the date we want but also the time we want.
Same thing goes for the spa.

Better to plan ahead than be disappointed midweek when your times are no longer available.

There were plent of vacancies at Portofinos during our cruise. If anything it was under used! (August 2007). We booked after a couple of days onboard, as there was no real panic. The food is terrific though, the lobster skewer in particular. My abiding memory was sat at our table waiting for our first course, as the sun was setting over the Isle of Capri, as we sailed past. Awesome!
Enjoy
