Default dress code

Since this is our first cruise, I'm a little confused as to what clothing to bring. My husband will bring a dark suit for the formal nights, but does he need a sports coat for the other nights? Or, will just a polo shirt or dress shirt do? Thanks.

We have our 5th cruise booked for Bermuda in September and I have seen pretty much all kinds of dress in the dining room. Most nights, most men wear polo type shirts, and nice pants. I hardly ever see jeans in the dining room. On formal night I have seen tuxedos, nice suits and even polo shirts. RC tends to be more laid back than Celebrity. I know my hubby and I were turned away from the downstairs seating on Celebrity for the show because he changed out of his suit into shirt and pants. We just went upstairs and were admitted. Just no shorts or flip flops and he should be fine.

Thanks, Cathy. That's what I needed to know. I pretty much know what I'm taking, but I was a little up in the air about my husband (I do all the packing).

I think he should be fine too...You hardly see men in sports jackets that evening, some lines have just done away with it and have it as a casual evening.

Thanks! That's a big help. Does anyone know what to expect on cruises leaving out of Bayonne, NJ at the end of Nov. going to the Caribbean? I was thinking we'd have maybe 2 cool days, first and last cruising days, and the rest relatively warm? I know, I'm obcessing! I'm just trying to pack as little as possible and still have enough.
