Default dinner dress code NOT formal nights

Serenade of the Seas - heading to Alaska - with all the cold-weather/hiking, etc... gear we're packing, we're trying to lighten our load. I know what we're bringing for formal nights, but what about the other nights - are nice pants and a shirt ok for my husband, or does he need a jacket? Nice jeans and a dressy shirt ok?
Also, Portofino/Chops - what's their dress code?
Thanks,

Nice pants and shirt OK for "non-formal" nights.

No jeans in dining room.

Portofino/Chops = "dressy casual" - no jeans - jacket optional.

Jeans are fine for casual nights. Cruise line even states that jeans are allowed on casual nights.

Don't wear Jeans even if they say you can. You will feel out of place.
