Default Royal Caribbean - I REALLY HAVE TO VENT!!!

This is a great cruise line! I've never had an issue with them and loved the two cruises we did with them. We're planning our 3rd one for February.

How's that for a switch? Who's with me?

12 Cruises and what really pisses me off is that I have to wait until February and April to go again. The last cruise I went on in May only lasted seven days and then they made us leave the ship just when we were getting used to it.

What really sucks about RCI is one time on our cruise it rained and they couldn't or wouldn't do anything about it. Another time it was so windy that the water from the pool was splashing out and being carried with the wind and got me wet!

Probably my biggest disappointment with Royal Caribbean was when I did just a shortie three nighter on the Sovereign and they didn't hold a belly flop contest!!

30 Cruises with RCI, not one issue, Not even with booking, I have 4 cruises booked for the next 3 years, not one problem in booking with RCI, I got nothing to complain about.

Well, I have a big complaint. My next cruise on Mariner has three sea days and I will have nothing to do but hang around the pool, drink beer and check out babes in bikinis! Then I will have to dress up for a nice dinner and have to enjoy the evenings activities only to have to repeat it all again the next day!

I'm sailing on the Sovereign at the end of the month. I'm so worried because it looks like so many of you have have just been through a living hell while crusing RCI.

I have so many questions....Do I really HAVE to tip anyone? Will my old high school letter jacket from 25 yrs ago be suitable for formal night? My wife is planning to wear spandex shorts, flip flops and a t-shirt with a picture of Marge Simpson on the front, will that be ok? Is there any way I can sneak on my own keg of beer (I've done the math and I'd save $ 18.00 dollars by doing so). Will my nine year old nephew be allowed to gamble in the casino? Has anyone ever stayed in cabin 1313? Please tell me about it in excruciating detail...What are the dimensions of the cabin? How many seconds will I have to wait between toilet flushes? Will the noise from the pool, casino, shuffle board area or disco bother be in any way at any time? How close is it to the elevator? What country will my cabin steward likely be from and what is his name? Does anybody know anything about his upbringing? What will be the first towel animal he makes me? Will he make towel animals out of the towels I use for the pool or just the ones for the bathroom? Speaking of that, if I attend the towel animal folding class on board, what should I wear and will I have to tip the instructor?

Most importantly, will I have to think for my self in any way at any time while on the cruise? Thanks for any advice on these vital matters that are keeping me awake at night

5 cruises on RCI, and each one better than the last one! #6 coming up in a short months time! Only had one issue with RCI concerning a credit card/onboard account problem, a clerical mistake that they solved to my satisfaction after the cruise. I'm hoping to talk my wife into at least 2 more RCI cruises next year! I really want to cruise the southern Caribbean on the Adventure OTS!

ready2board - You hit that one square on the head!!!

Actually, I did have one real problem. Last year on the Enchantment, I specifically said I did NOT want my kids cards to have charging privileges. My younger one lost his, got another and they did not check to see and let his card be able to charge. Much to his delight, he found it worked in the Arcade and spent an afternoon running up my bill to the tune of about $140!

When I went to the pursers desk with my problem at dinner time the last night, the girl said she would have to talk to her manager and he would not be on duty until midnight. I was very polite, wrote a respectful request to have the charges removed citing that fact that I had requested they not be able to charge and my status as Diamond Dave the Wave. In the morning when I got my final bill, the charges had been reversed.

Let's see, number 17 coming up with RCI in 28 days. My complaint has already been voiced but I'll voice it again. After my cruise in 28 days I have to wait until April to go on my next RCI cruise. BUMMER!!!

lol Iv seen a few complaints today. One someone is now doing an Eastern which he did last time, they were supposed to do a Western next week and changed it because of a hurricane....can you imagine that???

Ill be on RCI next month, maybe by then I can think of some good complaints.

I've been patiently waiting and waiting and waiting for my next cruise. I can't believe they're making me wait soooo long... This time they are not going to kick me off after 7 days, I get 14 days to raise some he** and complain about the great service and food and the beautiful ship to boot.
Just a measly 24 days till Western Europe aboard the beautiful Jewel! Woo Hoo

This will be my 9th RCCI cruise and our children's 5th. They are 7 and 9 and spoiled brats. . We love the kid's crew. Almost as much as our children love it. We have never had a bad experience, on any cruise or cruise line. It is hard for me to believe that anyone can NOT enjoy a cruise. With life and work so stressful nowadays anywhere I can go and not get a cell signal or HAVE TO check my email is Nirvana. Alcohal usage and not having to worry about transportation is also a GREAT thing.

Question - does RCCI still do the buckets of beer? When we cruise last time on the Brilliance they did not offer them. THis was a year and a half a go though.

My kiddo would pay extra for that - he likes swimming in E-Ticket pools!

On Rhapsody? I will be on that one. My friend and I joked that we should take a cruise instead of a land resort because the ship can move out of the way if a hurricane comes - as I guessed, it was a good contingency plan!

Well lets see, we are takeing our second cruise ever in Oct. Already had it paid off. They had a price drop. And I Got The Difference Back! Dog gone those RCI folks for being so nice about it! Planning a 3rd cruise hopefully to make it a group cruise next time, and get more people hooked on RCI!

Hooked on RCI

Well this is what I hated on my 2 cruises

All the staff was nice & smiling, our cabin was cleaned twice a day by our mysterious unseen stewart, the food was good, we never had a want for anything, our cabin was decorated with a cake by unseen RCI folks for a b-day surprise, our waiter was friendly & never forgot our names or what we liked, my lettuce was cut up for me without asking, I forgot I had another life outside the cruise ship, the photo's were all developed professionally....

I could go on....sigh.....

Hello Everyone!

Here is my one complaint with RCCL.

I purchased a balcony on mariner of the seas, and when I got my documents it had been upgraded to a Jr. Suite!! The nerve of RCCL with out asking me first!

Well, here's my complaint-

I have never been on Royal Caribbean, so  on all of you!

My REAL complaint is that I haven't booked yet but know what ship I'm doing (Brillliance of the Seas-Europe)...however that the trip won't take place until May, June, July, or August of 2008 (a little indecisive on the time...)! WAH!!!!!

At least I have a cruise booked in March to tide me over....

The price on my Mariner of the Seas cruise has gone up but I still have to pay the lower farefrom when I booked it! I was willing to pay more and they won't let me!

I can't believe how this cruiseline has treated ME!!

I've cruised 20 times (#21 in ten days), and they still have the absolute nerve to insist that I have my bed made, cabin cleaned, and pamper me 'til I think I'm royalty. And, believe it or not, they always want me to pick out food from a menu with NO PRICES!!

On top of that, they want to make me laugh at hilarious comedians, applaud magnificent stage shows, drink & dance to my hearts' content, or even do NOTHING AT ALL.. but relax and enjoy a beautiful sun, an incredible moonlit night, & the serene, calming ocean.

And then.. after I'm forced to put up with their treatment for 3,7, or 12 days.. when I've finally gotten a little used to it..

..then they say I have to GET OFF THE SHIP???
THAT'S JUST INSANE!!
