No irons....what about steamers?
Hi, I'm cruising the mariner in a week and 1/2. I know that irons are a no - no, but what about steamers. Has anyone taken a steamer on board? Did you have any trouble? Missy |
The steamers are fine. Mrs Kuki has been using them on ships for years, and they are just as effective, and actually easier to use than irons.

Thanks Kuki, that's the first thing I will pack!! Can't wait to leave. This is my first time on the Eastern Caribbean. Have done the Western 4 times. Missy |
Hi Missy:
Yep, the Moose is correct,,,steamers are the way to go, or you can do as the lovely Mrs. Jones (Vita) does. She just brings along one of those spray cans of wrinkle release. They seem to work just fine too. (except on my face) You're going to love Eastern Caribbean. I've been all over the world, and still think that St. Thomas, St John is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. St. Martin is very unique too. Have a great cruise, Ken |
:D I agree.....steamers and Downey anti wrinkle spray work PERFECT. I travel with 2 kids and a husband and the first cruise we went on, every evening I went down and ironed in the laundry room. NEVER again! Steamer and Downey all the time now!!

I have a travel steam iron that I picked up at the mall and it works great! I usually steam our formal clothes (suites, ties, dress shirts, gown, etc.) and then use Downey Wrinkle Release for the rest of the cruise.
I'm on a cruise to relax...no washing or ironing for me! |
