Default gRANDUER SHIP any pointers? on the smaller ship.questions

Thanks everyone, unfortunatly I wont be on one of the big fancy ships. I will be on the Grandeur of the seas. I dont believe it has any of the extra resturants, or special activities the larger ships have. Any one been on this ship that has a pointer to the first must see or do on HER?

Louise,

I'd recommend that you plan to be onboard around noonish, at the latest, that way you can reconnoiter and find the Windjammer where you can treat yourself to the first yummy meal onboard. Once fortified with food, you can then commence to finding your way around the ship. There are a bunch of us planning to meet in the Viking Crown lounge, dubbed the flying saucer by one of my previous shipmates, immediately after the muster drill. You folks are welcome to join us up there for a cold beverage and some early MOB action. Only weeks to go!

Default Grandeur

We were on Grandeur in 1996, its first year if I recall correctly. It's funny how so many of us refer to it as a "small" ship, while at 916' its still huge. A sign of the times I guess w/ the new ones being so massive. But you'll ebjoy it I think.

While it doesn't have the promenade like the Voyager class, Ipersonally found it to be a cozier ship, and I liked the Windjammer better. Assuming its still at the forward end of the ship, get up early when heading east and eat breakfast catching sunrise, it's a beautiful way to start your trip. My daughter, 11 at the time, and I would do that every morning while everyone else slept. Eleven years later she and I still remember it and share the memory. Something special. Have a great time!

Hello All: I can't wait to go to the windjammer.. I love buffet style all you can eat meal deals.. lol....

My husband and I where on the Disney cruise when the kids where 7 and 9 and they loved it also....

My husband also remembers the going to top deck in the morning he loved watching the ship go into port.

This year we have a balcony for the first time, but he still tells me he is going to the top... lol... He doesn't even feel likethe balcony will be used much..

I like it because I won't feel like i am closed in darkness not knowing the time.... and cant wait to get out...

It should be alot of fun...cruising....really looking forward to it.. and I hope that the weather is nice and we don't miss any ports.

A cruise is what you make it... I will be I am sure invovled in alot of different things....as for my other half he is a bit shy,.

Im ready to go... Oh MY only 30 days to go.... Yikkers I'd best get packing....

Louise

The WJ situated up front, is one of the best reasons to take one of the Vision class ships

The vision class ship was our first with RC, Rhapsody to be exact. You will love the ship, the minute you step aboard and see the Atrium. Like the previous poster wrote, make your way to the Windjammer, then go and explore!

Yikes, I've been on the Legend and the Grandeur and have
forgotten the WJ is on the front of the ship. A good reason
to take the Granduer again.
