If they are dropping the anchor it can be very noisy early in the morning if you're trying to get some sleep after a late night out. I don't know how it would be in rough weather.
I rather be in the stern than the bow. Prefer the mid ship. Keep calling the cruise line and have them check for a different room. People do cancel, especially just before the final payment is due. If you find one and bought thru a travel agent call them quickly and tell them to put you on hold while they change it. If not, they might not get around to it for a while and it could be gone.
