I have had the card for 3 years now and have accumulated a lot of pionts almost enough for the 7 day cruise. The way I do it is, I use the card and pay it off every month. I try not to carry a month to month balance. You get 1 point for every dollar. The way I got so many points is that everytime I book a cruise on RCI I use the card. When I'm on board I desiginate the RCI card as the one to be charged. Everything that you do with the RCI card that has to do with RCI you get double points. To get the double points I always use the RCI card when I cruise. I do think it is worth it.
I cruise once a year so I plan on putting the cuise on that...actually did that for my next cruise when I opened the card as well as put on charges for the cruise I was on. Still it seems like it will take forever to accumulate anything significant.
I got my first statement today and am so disappointed to see I got only 2,500 bonus points instead of the promo 15,000. I called the bank and was told that they will review my application and will have to wait till Thursday for a response. I don't know if I should cancel if they won't give me the promo bonus

Personally, I don't care for the card, I guess it is good if you charge often but for people who don't you need 25,000 points just for an upgrade. There are other cards out there with a much lower interest rate and better perks. IMO
