Mariner vs Westerdamn

If anyone has sailed on Holland America, pl4ease let me know what you thought of the Westerdamn?

I loved mariner with RCCL, but after reading the reader reviews, I am more than apprehensive about not going to San Juan. It is an ideal cruise for my husband and I, but I do not want rude people and wild children and this is what I have read on the reviews. I also do not appreciate the fact that some of the passengers are rude and that their cruise fares are discounted heavily. My husband really wants to do the Southern Caribbean during 11/2008.

What do you think of Holland America? Is there enough to do or is it still
"blue hair"?

The time frame you mention is during the school year, so I would not think, there would be many kids, despite the offers given to locals.

I was on the old Westerdam, and the Zuiderdam in 2005, and I must admit these ships were like ghost ships at night. Way to quiet for me, and if you are used to more action and options, I would suggest sticking with RCI, or see if a Celebrity ship is sailing then.
