Default New to cruising...alcohol question

I see that we should have our luggage with us as well as a carry-on bag with essentials just in case our bag doesnt arrive on time before dinner. My question is this: if I were to bring some "special" water with me, can I have that in my carry on? Do they search Carry on bags??

Thanks in advance for any help!

I always carried a bottle of water on and off at each port. Never was a problem. You can purchase bottled water on the ship but much less in port so I usually always brought a bottle on each day.

Yes, they do check carryons - having said that, we put a wine box in our carryon and one in our checked luggage and had no problem. While it did hold wine, it could have held anything . . . .

Holy SMOKES!!! A whole box of wine!!! That would be my IDEAL situation as I dont want to have to drink the hard (clear) stuff.

I guess it would help to say that I am going on a 3 day weekend Ensenada cruise on the Monarch of the Seas- if that could help in giving anyone else some guidance!

Thanks for you reply!

Reminds me of the time I came home late one night with a keg of beer. I stumbled on the stairs and made so much noise I woke my wife. She yelled out to me asking what was wrong. I said "I have a keg of beer". She said... "just leave it downstairs and come to bed".

I said.. "I can't. It's in me!"

Just pack the booze in your checked luggage. It will get to your cabin. No need to disguise it to make it "special".

They were the smaller sized boxes, not the big ones. Each box held the equivalent of 1-1/3 bottles and saw us through a 9-day cruise. One should be fine for a 3 day. Not the highest quality wine, but good enough to enjoy with a cheese plate from room service.

Default A Little Different Point of View

You stand a good chance of having that bag inspected. If the seals are opened on the "bottles of water" it will get an extra look. RCI has gotten tough on smuggling booze.

Thanks for your input. I think that I am just going to put everything in my luggage that I check in and have nothing in my carryon.
