Default getting off the ship

our ship docks im st. maarten at 9am, how long will it take to get off the ship. the reason i ask is our private tour starts at 9 and fellow thats in charge said he will wait for us. also im assuming this is island time

As long as he said he'll wait for you, you should be OK. Most likely you'll already be there before 9:00, but there could be delays... If you are meeting at the dock in town, they use that one if you have to tender in, which will require more time and the people with actual ship excursions. If you dock, then its a short ferry ride or walk to town. Last trip there for me, we had to tender, but that brought us right where we wanted to be without getting to town from the other pier.
