Default Explorer ice skating rink

Do the kids programs ever take the kids skating? I'm asking because I haven't ice skated in years, and I'm currently doing PT (physical therapy) for a hip injury... and its been a real pain to rehabilitate it enough so I can run pain free... that I started thinking I don't want to risk another fall (gee, that makes me sound old . My husband and parents don't want to ice skate, but I want the kids to try it if they want.

I guess I will end up doing it anyhow, along with the inline skating, but wondering if these are offered through kids programs, and I could just watch?

Also, since I think there is a running track on the Explorer, is it still ok to run on the lower promenade deck too... (wishful thinking on my part right now until I get better)

Thanks for any input,

procrastinating from doing work..... and thinking about a cruise that is MONTHS MONTHS in the future

No running on promenade deck. Yes, the kids program will take them skating. You have to sign a waiver each time. The show is not to be missed!

Thinking about a cruise that is months and months and even a year or more in the future is half ( okay maybe a third) the fun!

No the Adventure Ocean doesn't take the kids skating, ice or inline. We just sailed the Explorer and this was never one of their activities.

You do have to sign a waiver and wear long pants for the ice skating. They will not let you skate in shorts. Inline skating you will sign a waiver as well but you can wear shorts.

As far as the running track, many walkers used this during the day along with the runners. Also every morning there is a scheduled time for walkers.

On the Liberty they did take the kids skating on one of the days. This was in my sons age group don't know what they do with the other age groups.

On the Freedom class the kids also have a flowrider party one evening with the youth staff.

Maybe it's ship to ship then?

Our kids are 9 and 6 so they were in two different age groups.

Yes Dottie it must only be for the older groups.
When your kids are alittle bit older they will be able to attend.
