Default Sovereign Of The Seas??

Looking for some input on/about this ship? Looking at taking a family of 5, 2 adults, 3 kids ages 8, 13 adn 15 on a spring break cruise, 4nites.
I have read some disturbing reviews from others about this ship, mostly about the cleanliness and sewer smell. But I realize, not everyone had perfect cruise. Would love to hear from anyone who has been on this ship recently.
Thanks

She is quite lovely! WOuld go again after 5 times. Go here for some fun pics of her!

Sadly, she will be leaving the fleet next year to join Pullmantur so go and enjoy! She is a classic.

I have been on this ship twice this year, one 3 night & one 4 night BOTH wonderful. The ship was clean, service wonderful. I sailed this ship back in 01 and it was badly in need of a touch up and it got one.

Wife and I just sailed on her 2 months ago. Great ship, incredible staff and terrific food and service. So good I'll only do RCCI from now on. Casey, your cruise director is a blast!

I wasn't aware of RCCI's plan for her...Hope they change their mind..I would love to sail on her again someday!

well im shocked, the sovereign - class ships are by far my favourite out of all the rccl ships! in particualr monarch as i sailed her as my first cruise in 1992! surely the smaller ships should be kept with royal caribbean for more choice as alot of people prefer the smallers ships? even the captain on navigator said to my family his best command was majesty!
how long will it be before we see monarch and majesty going to island cruises or pullmantur? sovereign = magnificent and a true rci liner!

GO!!!! She is a great ship. We went last October and I also was a little nervous after sailing on the EOS, but we had a great time. The ship is very clean and beautiful. As for the smell, I think if you really wanted to walk up and down the halls and search for one you may be able to pick up a slight odor, but I never smelled anything that was bothersome.

We had 4 in our inside cabin (2 adults and 2 kids) and the only thing I would do differently is to maybe book an adjoining cabin next time.

Book it. You will have a great time.

Michell

Great memories of my 5 times onboard. Monarch is only one of the three I have not been on so now I may get my chance. Here is Sovereign off Coco Cay approaching by tender...

My first cruise ever was on the Sovereign and we had one of the best times of our lives back in June for our anniversary.

Ive never been so politely pampered, fed so well, and laughed so hard on a vacation. I'd hate to see her go, but our memories will last a lifetime!!

Sovereign is the Truth!!

So is the Monarch just like the Sovereign? We were on the Majesty and I heard it was just like the Sovereign. It was a beautiful ship.

They are essentially the same. Minor details in layout of Windjammer and hot tubs. Different names for the dining rooms and lounges but otherwise true sisters.

Good news Dave. Hubby's secretary sailed on the Soveriegn in June and just raved about it. We thought this would be a good little trip when we are having "cruise withdrawals" after our Feb cruise on the Mariner. The three nighter is a perfect little "after cruise" snack And, it is soooo much cheaper to fly into Orlando than Miami.
You say the Monarch is the "younger sister"? Has she been refurbished like the Majesty and the Soveriegn?
