Default Carnival Devotee Booked on RCCL Navigator OTS

For those that have actual experience on both cruiselines, tell me -- what are some of the differences between the two cruiselines?

I have been on one RCCL Cruise VOTS in 2003. Any changes since then?

No matter how small or opinionated, I would love to hear what will I see RCCL do differently from Carnival.

Honestly, I think both are pretty close. I just enjoy RCL a little better. I absolutely hated the Carnival lounge chairs, but I've heard they are changing those, they were awful and always falling apart. In the food dept., I though both were about the same and entertainment was great on both, but a notch up for RCL, especially their "freedom" class ships, the ice shows are not to be missed.

I also like the ship's decor much better on Royal, so basically, its a personal choice, I'd go again on either if it was an itinary that I wanted to do.

IBCRUZIN: I think you will have a wonderful time on Royal Carribbean. The lines are pretty similar - except for the decor of the ship. I will add that it seems to me that Carnival has been booking more large family group cruises where Royal Carribbean has smaller parties to their group and thus, easier to socialize and meet new people. I have sailed both lines and honestly can say that it is what you make it. If you want to meet people you will and oftentimes go to shows or clubs with your new friends.

I'm sure you will enjoy your cruise on Navigator. And since you have already been on her sister ship Voyager you will know what to expect.
I've only sailed once on Carnival and did cruise on both Navigator and Voyager. I prefer RCCL but sometimes it is good to try another cruise line. I don't think you will find any major changes since you last cruised RCCL in 2003. Service is still top notch, activities galore, shows are great and the food is good.

Enjoy your trip!
