Default 5 niter vs 7 niter??

Ok other then of course the shorter days at port/sea what would I miss out on going on a 5 niter?

How many formal nites? I'm thinking only one?
Do they still have the men's sexy legs and The Quest?

Youtube has a taping of The Quest from one of the Navigator sailings!
Funny stuff! Check it out!
You have to type in "Navigator of the seas Quest"

Still have belly Flop, sexy legs, Quest, ect... just 2 less days and of course the cost. I have been on Enchantment for the 5 nighter 3 times and had a blast. The mariner for 7 with another booked and also had a great time but spent a lot more money! Extra days of tipping, drinking, ports, parking, ect...

One thing I noticed on the smaller ships the quest game was made up of small teams and in a lounge. On the Mariner the Quest was help in the ice skating venue and the teams consited of a king and queen and an entire section of seating of maybe 50-100 people. Still good but much different probably due to the greater number of people and it is a very popular game.

DTW -
Well if they do have the Quest, Belly flop and all that fun stuff I might as well consider the Explorer 5 niter. No air involved and I have yet to visit Bermuda. I have other trips planned for 2008 so I have to be on a budget for the cruise.
Plus gotta get ready for the Gensis in 2009 I know the airfare and cruise on that one will be high. But that is a must cruise no matter what the price is.
(oops! I hope the RCCL and Continental big bosses are not reading this they will really set the rates high! )
It is nice when they do the Quest on the ice rink. I don't remember anything about king and queen! If that is the case then who better to be the queen than me "Thecruisequeen".

Absolutely! The king and queen for each team were the ones standing out on the floor and running the various items out center "ice". I got to be the king and had the usual fun of dancing around in bra and panties with lipstick, ect...

Hmmmm.... Trip (poster above) says 7 days hands down.....

The explorer also does the 9 niters out of Jersey!

Then there is SJ's recommendation of Mariner in May but there will be alot of extra souffle weight on the ship that it might sink. The titanic did not look like fun!

Come on Mariner March 30th with me for Spring Break. I think one true formal and another suit and tie type of night.

One formal night for a five night, and one smart casual. That is according to RCI. But most ships have done away with smart casual all together.

thanks yea I forgot about smart casual. I think I'll just make up my own dress policy - 2 formal, 2 semi formal and 1 smart casual.

Smart casual and semi-formal are pretty much the same thing.

You will have 3 casual night.

We have spring break the week of March 16th. Of course Continental airfare is $600.00 The airfare is lower starting end of April.

Halloween cruises must be alot of fun wonder if they have a costume party on the ship?

No that is the fashion diva icon herself Mrs. David Beckham!

But I'm the fashion diva icon #2! 8)

I'm having a hard time posting my photo on here. I have a computer with a mind of its own. I had to reboot this thing twice this morning and it is only about 2 years old. I think I'm going to get a new one really soon this computer is driving me crazy.

If time off and money are no issue, then a seven dayer MIGHT be for you. I'm probably stating the obvious but just remember a seven nighter is 2 more days of spending on excursions, drinks, casino and everything else.

I've only been on 4 day cruises and I have come to believe that a five dayer would be just right, at least for me. To be honest, toward the end of our recent 4 dayer on Sovereign I just started to feel like everything was so excessive...Almost too much food and relaxation if you can believe it. I personally can't imagine doing one beyond 7 days but I know most people disagree. Even at 4 days, I feel like you've seen about all you can see as far as the shows, shopping, ungodly amounts of food and everything else. Lets' face it, alot (not all) of the ports are kind of the same after awhile with alot of the same pricy excursions. Also, I don't like being away from home that long but again know I'm in the minority with that. I suppose it's probably also a matter of pacing yourself.

Short answer...I think 5 days is plenty for anyone under most circumstances.

Thanks and yes time off and $ will be an issue. And yes at this point all the ports are the same. I have a bunch of long weekend soccer trips in 2008 (north carolina, jacksonville, dallas and can't forget the ladies only vegas trip) so the 2008 cruise trip I have a budget in mind. Explorer 5 niter is the answer!
