Airport to port in San Juan??

How long does it take to get from the airport to the port in San Juan? We are cruising on the Royal Caribbean Empress of the Seas, Dec. 3. We are flying in the day of the cruise. We have been told it is faster to take a taxi to the cruise terminal. Any advice will be appreciated. Also, which port does RC Empress cruise out of? Thanks, for any help.

We just did this last week. Cab from airport approx 30 min max and 20 to 25 dollars. Did the transfer back to the airport after the cruise and it was 15 dollars apiece and took about 30 minutes. We were on the Carnival Destiny and were in Slip number 5.

From the airport, my experience is the taxi is the quickest as you do not have to wait for a large group to assemble.

Take the shuttle going back to the airport and be sure to use the baggage check service at the ship terminal offered by RCL and the airlines.

Took a taxi both ways (look for the ORANGE stands-I got that tip here and it was extremely helpful). It was around $20 each way and took 30 minutes. I would recommend the taxi.
