Default Changing Cruise Dates

I sent this question to RCI, but I was wondering if anyone here has ever found themselves in this situation. Once I do get a response from RCI, I will post it here as well.

I booked a cruise for June 2008 based on when I anticipate getting my vacation time. However, there is always the possibility that I will not get my vacation exactly then, but that it may be a week or two difference in when I get to go. So my cruise is set for 15 June, but the same cruise sails on 8 Jun, 22 Jun, 29 Jun, 6 Jul, and 13 Jul. Do you think I would be able to just swap to another cruise so long as it's not sold out without incuring a penalty? What if I am less than 30 days out from my cruise date? I already know the penatlies for cancelling, but this wouldn't really be cancelling because they would still get my money. No matter when my vacation is, I still want to go on this cruise.

Any thoughts or experience in this matter?

I have changed dates many times with no problem. Never had to change within 30 days, so I can't answer that part.

As long as you are not within the final payment date window, you can change it. Your price would be the going rate at that time. So, if you got and deals, they are off of the table.

Otherwise, you will loose part/all your $$$$.

I have changed after final payment date and they did not charge me anything. It just took a while to get it sorted out- everything turned out fine. Good luck and have a great cruise!!
