last minute upgrades

traveling dec 2 w carribean for husbands 40th my brother paid 800.00 more for his cabin . What do you think the chances are of us getting an upgrade at the last minute? And who do we speak to? Of course we dont want to pay the 800. we think maybe 3-400. more or is that too much? we are arriving in ft lauderdale the day before the cruise so we will have time to make arrangements. Also if we do not like our cabin at all (its the fron of the ship deck 7 on radiance can they change our room?

I've got good news, and bad news for you. First the good news. Deck 7 on Radiance will most likely be a very good cabin. I'd bet you'll be very very happy there, and find that there is no need to pay a dime to upgrade. Now the bad news. More often than not, the ship will be sold out, and there is no chance for an upgrade, or even swapping cabins. That isn't always the case, but more often than not I've noticed that lately the ships are sold out. In any case, I certainly wouldn't worry about it. Once again, I'll bet you like your deck 7 cabin.

I say deck seven and it is cabin 7510 ,the furthest front of the ship ,i heard ill be listening to the anchor!!! Is this true? Plus we have the optional 3rd birth which i think will take up space in the cabin , i dont know . ONE THING I DO KNOW IS WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A GOOD TIME NO MATTER WHAT!!

Our friends had cabin 7004, directly in front and loved the cabin. They never mentioned any anchor noise. I looked at the picture of your cabin on the RCI website and it looks like a very nce cabin with a couch. The 3rd berth you mentioned is up in the ceiling and only your cabin steward has a key to let it down. If you don't plan to use it, you will never know it's there. Have a great time.

In most cases, the best chance for an upgrade is when you book a guarantee cabin catagory, you didn't mention if you booked that way or not. You may want to call your travel agent and see if there are any cabins to upgrade too. Sometimes, right before a sailing, its a minimal cost to upgrade.

I also wouldn't expect to be able to upgrade once you are onboard, that hardly ever happens. I bet you'll love your cabin and the cruise, just go and have a great time!

Also they always post a sign at the Bursar's desk telling you that the ship is fully booked. If you do not see that sign after boarding maybe you will have a chance. The odds are heavily against you however.
