Default Port Side on the Freedom OTS

A friend is cruising on the Freedom in January and has a question that we can't answer since we haven't cruise from Miami since 1989. If she books a port side (left) balcony, will she be on the dock side in Miami upon embarkation? What about the other ports during the cruise? Thanks for the info.

Freedom faces bow to sea when she is embarking Miami, the pier is on the right (starboard) side.

In Miami, port side is actually the better side if you are interested in the view while still in Miami, even though she is docked on starboard side. Portside you will have a better view leaving port. If you are in your cabin, you will have a view of downtown Miami, Southbeach and the islands in between. On the starboard side, you will have a view of the port.

Thank you for the replies. I will print them and pass them on. She likes to watch them untie the ship and prepare for sailing.
