Default Mariner of the Seas

We're booked into cabin #1688 on the Mariner. Has anyone had this particular cabin? It's one of the rear cabins facing the wake on Deck 10. Does anyone know how large the balcony is? The layout of the cabin is different (than the other D1s) -- does anyone know the square footage?

I have seen these balconies on the Feedom class (probably the same) and they are really pretty big. You muight find a few "surprises" out there from the public decks above sometimes, but nothing too scary.

Looking forward to what you have to say about the ship upon return.

I had this cabin on another RCI ship and the balcony was much bigger than is found in standard balcony cabins. I loved being in this location!

I guess it might surprise some people to know that Anne and I are still friends and talk several times a week. It is good to have her on the boards.

Why should we be surprised? Did you have a falling out?

Roland, the truth is I am VERY bad at names and honestly if you think I don't like you the reason is a pure mystery to me.

I like almost everyone I meet. I am one of those people who even likes the kind of social miscreants a lot of other people shun. The people who say obvious truths in polite society that tend to embarass the elite - I love those people.

DaveB from Britain ticked off a lot of people, I was the one who kept asking the staff to give him another chance. I am the one on the boards who always sticks up for the first time poster whom others call a "drive-by".

The truth is I rarely look at the names of posters and I definitely don't keep any kind of stat sheet on any poster. In all honesty, I am not the kind of person to get overly involved on a "personal" level with folks on the Internet. I guess I have "been there, done that." and now I focus much more on my personal home life and my job.

I am VERY happy that we have a thriving group of friends here in CruiseMates and I feel a little guilty that i don't get involved more, but it just isn't "me" to participate in message boards except to talk about cruising. And that is nothing personal to anyone here, it is just a fact. I don't participate in any other groups, either.

When I do get involved with message board personality issues it is almost always to just to resolve conflicts because I receive a complaint about someone. My answer is almost always "everyone has an equal right to be here." And once I am done with it I rarely remember who it involved.

Kuki, Donna, Trip and the rest of CM do a fantastic job keeping the boards going. When I come here it is mostly just to look for unanswered questions and give cruise advice.

Anne and I are good friends and speak several times a week. No, we didn't have a falling out, we have remained good friends for years now.

Guys, if you are going to discuss this please take it offline. The boards are not the place to discuss personality issues, especially in a cruise line board.

Lombard, if you want to discuss it with me please send me a PM or email.

Thank you.

So that explains why I have been allowed to post here all these years.

Mystery or not, you have written to me in uncomfortable ways earlier.

Yes, I definitely agree on that and so did Anne

Whoa even better , considering that I have on several occasions accused her of sounding like a stereotypical snooty Manhattanite . For the record, I like most Mahattanites I have met although many have a blind spot when it comes to acknowledgement that civilization exists outside of their island. .

AlamoGirl....

I am truly sorry our board disappointed you. I understand exactly what you are saying and I agree with you. Expressing negativity about other posters certainly isn't why I am here.

Thanks, I look at these boards as a way to get information in a positive manner and we have made friends with some on another cruise board and well, this one was just hmm, didn't seem fun?? Sorry!
