Default Enchantment- Really bad bunks Inside Cabins

Just a warning if you are considering the top bunks in the Enchantment of the Seas. After a climb up the tortuous little metal ladder, you are rewarded with a rock hard mattress and flat slab of a pillow. I guess I should have complained!

Actually slept on a bunk in an ov on Enchantment the first week of November -- I though it was pretty comfy, and so did my sister when we traded beds. I must admit the bed was more comfortable, but I had no problems with the bunk.

I'm just curious...I always hear about bunk rooms on here but never see them in cruise brochures or on the ship web sites when looking at rooms...Seems like the least expensive they show pics of are the inside cabins with two twin beds.

How much cheaper are the bunk rooms? Is there really enough cost savings involved to maybe not just spring for a 2 twin bed room? Being married now it's not an option but maybe back in the single days...Again just curious.

This cruise was for my sister and my mom and I and we booked 3 in a room to save the single supplement. We were not aware of the bunks because the photos never show them!! It wasn't so much the idea of the bunk beds as the horrid little ladder. I mean really! There are comfortable ladders on the market! These ones are narrow and metal...you can't appreciate the experience of climbing up and down during the night! Anyway never again and it makes for a good laugh now!

definitely, climbing up and down a thin metal ladder in bare feet sounds tortuous. Not so bad for kids, but for any adult - yow...

I thought the bunks were fine and the kids really enjoyed them too. Here is a pic from the Enchantment.

Dave the Wave, I don't see the rickety ladder in the photo!!! I'm sure the kids would love it tho! Glad they did but never again for me.

Actually, in this pic, the bed on the right has the ladder lying on the bed. See the silver thing? I have slept up there my self a couple times.
